Children

Hello readers!   Welcome, especially, to my new friends who are joining me, from the United Arab Emirates – the wild kids from Apple School International in Sherjah!  I’ve just sent this clip from a school I visited in The Isle of Wight.

I am discussing Secret Two: Storytellers Must Notice Things.  Then I have just noticed a boy in the third row, who looked like Harry Potter.   “Are you Harry Potter?”   I said.  He said:  “No!”  Which (1) contradicted The First Rule of Storytelling (already established):   “You Always Say Yes”, and which (2)  made me look like an idiot.  But then– just prior to this clip starting – a girl in the front row stuck  her hand up and announced:  “I am actually Hermione Grainger!”   and she waved an imaginary  wand at me!!!

(Oh, she stole the show like Beyonce!  She got a huge round of applause!)

“If you are Hermione Grainger,”  I said (delighted of course to be playing along),  “what animal will you turn me into?”

And she said:  “Pony…”

I love that clip!  (Thank you to the wonderful teacher, who filmed the clip!)  It has inspired me to ask you to set me my first challenge:  You must nominate a strange animal, that I must slip into my show, next time I visit a school.   (I’ll try and film it, to prove I’ve done it!)    Plus… write stories yourselves, read books – but – whatever you do – please remember The First Rule of Storytelling which is:   Remember To Have Fun.

Nominate a strange animal on this form. If you want to send a drawing of your strange animal please email it to mrcloverthefamoussnail@gmail.com and I will put the ones I use on my website.
